Tuithaphai, May 23, 2025, Virthli (ONP): The Hmar Inpui (Supreme House), General Headquarters in Rengkai, Churachandpur, has issued a heartfelt condolence statement on the untimely demise of Pu Lalthansang Pulamte, former Chairman of the Hmar People’s Convention-Democratic (HPC-D), who passed away on May 22, 2025, at 7:00 PM at Max Saket Hospital, New Delhi. He was 43 years old.

Pulamte, a resident of Thingchom, Churachandpur was a key figure in the SoO (Suspension of Operation) Group and served as the group's spokesperson. According to the statement, he played a critical role in peace dialogues and was a signatory in the government’s ongoing negotiations with SoO groups. His sudden passing has been described as an immense loss to the Hmar people and the broader indigenous political movement.

Academically, Pulamte graduated in Commerce from Calcutta University and held an MBA degree. He was actively involved in community affairs and consistently supported Hmar causes through both activism and diplomacy.

The statement also extended condolences to his grieving family - his wife, children, and extended relatives - praying for comfort and strength during this difficult time.

Hmar Inpui concluded by affirming that his vision and legacy will continue to inspire the Hmar people in their collective journey.
