Tuiá¹haphai, 17 May 2025,Virthli (ONP): An FIR has been registered against Paojakhup Guite, President of the Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) Delhi, following the circulation of a video on social media in which he allegedly issues threats to the Meitei community, warning them not to cross the buffer zone to attend the upcoming Shirui Festival in Ukhrul district, Manipur.
According to a statement from Churachandpur Police, efforts are underway to locate and arrest Guite. Raids have reportedly been conducted in neighboring districts, and police forces in the adjoining states of Mizoram, Assam, Nagaland, and Meghalaya have been alerted and requested to assist in apprehending the accused as swiftly as possible.
Authorities have also assured the public that comprehensive security measures will be put in place to safeguard all attendees of the Shirui Festival, a major cultural event in the region scheduled to take place soon.
The alleged threat has sparked widespread concern, particularly given the fragile inter-community relations in the state. Law enforcement officials have reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and taking strict action against any attempt to incite communal tension.
