Imphal,Jun 3, 2016 : JCILPS convenor Khomdram Ratan has dismissed the image uploaded in social networking sites which showed him and some other people holding a flag of the banned UNLF pledging allegiance to the same outfit as a doctored one.

He asserted that the doctored image was uploaded with an ulterior motive to sabotage the ongoing movement for enactment of a Constitutional safeguard for protection of indigenous people of the land.

Speaking to media persons at their Sega Road, Konjeng Hazari Leikai office this evening, Khomdram Ratan said that the authorities took recourse to unethical and underhand tactics as the mass movement is gaining more and more momentum.

Clarifying that he never took part in any gathering where he held the UNLF’s flag and pledged allegiance to the outfit, Ratan said that the doctored image was uploaded to sabotage and project the popular movement in the wrong light.
“Such tactics would never deter me and we would carry on with the mass movement until the collective aspiration is fulfilled”, Ratan said.

He also appealed to all the people to stand by JCILPS for the genuine cause.
“The movement to safeguard indigenous people is legitimate and it is our bounden duty”, Ratan asserted.

On being enquired about the news report published today by The Indian Express based on the image uploaded in social networking sites, Ratan said he had not gone through the news report.

He said, “I will decide what I should do after going through the news report and I may go to Court”.
