IMPHAL, Jun 11: Following a massive combined operation along the Indo-Myanmar border by the Indian Army, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh today asserted that State forces were not involved in carrying out the strike against the insurgents and maintained that the initiative must have been taken up through a diplomatic channel between the Central Government and Myanmar authority.

Interacting with media persons during the 1st Manipur National Horti Expo 2015 at Hatta Kangjeibung, the Chief Minister said that the operation was conducted entirely under the direction of the Central Government.

The Chief Minister said, “It is a very sensitive issue and therefore it is difficult to give any comment on it. Though we may obtain some information, finalisation of every report received will be decided by the Central Government.

“With the arrival of Union Minister Jitendra Singh and interlocutor RN Ravi in the State today, we hope to get some information after meeting them,” the Chief Minister added.
