Churachandpur, Apr 17: Students bodies of Churachandpur took to the streets today protesting against the recent bomb attacks which occurred in the district, S Singlianmang Guite reports.
The rally which was organised jointly by Zomi Students’ Federation, Mizo Zirlai pawl, Hmar Students’ Association and Kuki Students Organisation took off from Lamka public ground to the district's DC office holding placards that demanded 'peace, books and food' instead of bombs.
A memorandum signed jointly by the presidents of the student bodies was handed over to the Deputy Commissioner before the rally concluded.
The memorandum appealed local administration and other law enforcing agencies to take up needful measures to prevent similar attacks in future.
The attacks, the protesters said, were an unwarranted ploy to victimise innocent citizens.
