A North East Delegation Led by General Secretary of National Alliance for  Women Mrs Jarjum Ete, will Meet National Commission for Women on Monday

The Delegation will Address to the Media after Meeting the Commission at 11 AM

New Delhi : Delhi Police has failed to nab the rapist of 20-years-old Manipuri girl. A delegation led by General Secretary of National Alliance for Women Mrs. Jarjum Ete, who is former Chairperson of Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women.

The North East community has lost faith in police official who are handling the rape cast of young Manipuri girl on January 18th night at Dwarka, New Delhi. The delegation will consist of four members - Mrs. Jarjum Ete, Ms June Rose Vaiphei - member of Manipur State Commission for Women and General Secretary of Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee, and North East Support Centre & Helpline's Spokesperson Mr. Madhu Chandra and Secretary Rev. Ambika Hongsha.

The North East communities are disappointed at half hearted attitude of law  enforcing agencies to protect the North East communities in Delhi and NCR. The reluctance and delay in taking action whenever crimes take place against North East communities, the culprits and perpetrators run away without being arrested and punished. If this continues, then the crimes against North East communities in Delhi and NCR will never cease. The North East communities seek the equal treatment in the front of law from law enforcing agencies as equal citizens of the nation.

North East Support Centre & Helpline ( is combined initiative of various human rights activists, social workers, students, journalists and lawyers seeking to prevent harassment and abuses meted out to women, North East People and tribal communities of different states.
