North East Girls Become Easy Target and Panic spread across Delhi and NCR

The Delhi Police failed to nab the rapist of the 20-years-old girl from Manipur after claiming the identified of the culprit. The delay tactic will allow the culprit to come up with a well cooked idea to escape from being arrested. The North East girls living in Delhi and NCR are panic after failure to provide safety.The Delhi Police found a bank ATM card belonging to the rapist from the spot and claimed that they have identified him and gave assurance to North East Support Centre & Helpline team to arrest the culprit within two hour after lodging the complaint. It has been more than 48 hours and the Delhi police is not able to nab the culprit.
Having seen the inability of the Delhi police to nab the culprit, the North East Support Centre & Helpline is worried. The Helpline has been taking update on Delhi police action on the case through reliable sources.
A delegation will submit a memorandum to the National Commission for Women to take up the case. The delegation will demand the followings:
1. The FIR No 11/2012 registered at the Dwarka Sector 23 Police station against the rape case must include the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocity Act 1995. The victim belongs to a tribal community.
2. Delhi Police to take action on the Spa Company where the victim was working for failure to follow the Delhi Police’s 9 Points Safety Guidelines for Night Working women to BPO companies.
3. The victim should be given justice as per SC/ST POA 1995.
North East Support Centre & Helpline once again appeal to Delhi police to be alert as promise after the issue was raised at national level on safety concern about working women. BPO companies must be ensured to follow strictly the Delhi Police 9 Points Guide Lines. Defaulter must be prosecuted according to the law.
The girl was raped by a man who offered a lift from Gurgaon to Mahipalpur and took to isolated place at Dwarka sector 20 and committed the crime. The culprit attempted to murder her after raping repeatedly.
Victim hailed from Churachandpur district in Manipur. She came to Delhi in 2010 and working in a spa centre at Gurgaon for last few months.
