HPC (D) declares unilateral ceasefire

Haflong,03 December, 2011: In the interest of the Hmar community of Assam and towards the prevailing in Assam the Hmar peoples’ Convention (democratic) of Assam declares unilateral ceasefire with Central Government, State Government and Security forces on Friday Mr David L. Hmar, Information and Publicity officer, HPC(D) disclosed in press meet held  somewhere in Borail hill that they would be approaching the Government for a formal for finding a permanent and respectable solution for the Hmar community in Assam. They strongly condemned organizations like Hill Tigers Force (HTF) and their acts of misleading Hmar youths; instead they urged them to follow the democratic process for finding a permanent solution.



They also declared that there were 35 active armed cadres in Assam and they committed not to indulge in anti-national activities and not to support any group involved in anti-government activities.
