Forest Survey of India (FSI) is a national organization under the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India responsible for the forest resource assessment at the national level. Under various projects being implemented by the FSI, there is a requirement of approximately five Technical Associates (JRF) on contractual basis for a period of 6 (six) months. Extension of tenure to the deserving TAs would be possible only if it is required for the project.

Essential Qualification: M.Sc./B.E./M.A.(Geography)/MCA from recognised University/Institute with some experience of remote sensing & GIS applications (special paper, project, dissertation etc).
Desirable Qualification: Diploma/degree in remote sensing and GIS applications. Preference will be given to UGC/CSIR/NET qualified candidates.
Desirable Experience: 6 months’ experience of working in digital image processing (DIP) and GIS softwares

Emoluments: Rs. 16,000/-p.m. (fixed) + HRA as admissible.

Date of Walk-in-Interview: 9.30 AM on February 15, 2011

Selection: Candidates have to appear for written test, hands-on test and interview at 9.30 AM on February 15, 2011. Selection will be done on the basis of qualification, experience and performance in the written test/interview/hands-on tests. Decision of the Director General, FSI will be final in this regard. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview/test.
