Mizo Territorial Army Recruitment Rally Preparations Underway

Aizawl, November 4, 2025: A coordination meeting was held today at the VIP Lounge of Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Mualpui, to review preparations for the upcoming Mizo Territorial Army (MTA) Recruitment Rally, scheduled to take place from November 15 to 25, 2025. The meeting was chaired by Lt. Col. (Retd.) Clement Lalhmingthanga, MLA, who also serves as the Chairman of the State Level Committee on Territorial Army Coordination and Establishment.

The MTA Recruitment Rally is being jointly organized by the Government of Mizoram and the 166 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) (Home & Hearth), Assam. Various state departments, NGOs, and local councils have been invited to extend their cooperation to ensure the successful conduct of the rally.

During the meeting, officials reviewed departmental preparations, coordination mechanisms, and public awareness initiatives. Emphasis was laid on efficient inter-departmental coordination to facilitate smooth operations during the event.

In his address, Pu Clement Lalhmingthanga highlighted the importance of the rally for the youth of Mizoram, encouraging eligible candidates across towns and villages to participate actively. A total of 144 General Duty posts will be available, including 9 reserved for women. Applicants must be between 18 and 42 years of age.

Successful recruits will receive attractive pay and allowances, including a hardship allowance of around ₹9,000, and higher pay benefits under the 8th Pay Commission when implemented.

Describing the recruitment as a significant opportunity for Mizo youth, Pu Clement urged all stakeholders to extend full support and cooperation. He expressed confidence that the rally will open new avenues for employment and national service among the younger generation.
