Kuki Inpi Manipur Condemns Security Operation, Calls for Peace and Impartiality

In a statement issued from the KIM Secretariat in Lamka, the organisation said the incident has caused “profound pain and outrage” among the Kuki-Zo community, calling it a serious setback to ongoing peace efforts.

KIM reiterated its commitment to peaceful dialogue and cooperation with the Government of India for an “enduring and honourable resolution” but warned that continued targeted actions against the community “undermine trust and jeopardize peace.”

While emphasizing that the Kuki-Zo people have consistently called for peace and restraint, the statement said that “selective enforcement and failure to address armed aggression” against the community have caused “grave injustice and long-term instability.”

The organisation urged all authorities to act with utmost sensitivity and impartiality, ensuring justice and peace. “Our patience and resilience should not be mistaken for weakness or acceptance of injustice. We cannot and will not accept actions that threaten our lives, dignity, and future,” the statement concluded.

The release was signed by Janghaolun Haokip, Secretary, Information & Publicity, Kuki Inpi Manipur.
