The celebration featured a grand traditional feast marked by the sacrifice of a Mithun, an exhibition of artifacts showcasing Hmar heritage, and vibrant cultural performances. Popular artistes such as Young Fela from Mizoram and Lalbieklien from Manipur enthralled the audience during the night programme.

Leiri holds a distinguished place in Hmar history, not only for its antiquity but also for its spiritual legacy. In 1924, the Gospel was first brought to Leiri by missionary Lienthang, and in 1926, the village hosted the first Vongzawl Presbytery Conference of the Presbyterian Church. By 1958, Leiri had officially become a Christian village, a milestone that shaped its cultural and religious identity.

Established around 1214, Leiri has long served as a cultural center for the Hmar community in Dima Hasao, preserving and passing down traditions, festivals, and customs to future generations.
