Churachandpur, Oct. 3, 2025: In a major crackdown on cross-border militancy, security forces arrested the self-styled Commander-in-Chief of the Chin Kuki Mizo Army (CKMA), Paokholen Guite of P. Mongjang village, from S. Munuam under Churachandpur Police Station, Churachandpur district, on Wednesday.
According to official sources, Guite was actively involved in trafficking weapons and drugs across the India–Myanmar border and supplying them to non-SoO (Suspension of Operation) groups in Manipur, including the United Kuki National Army (UKNA). He was also linked to multiple cases of extortion in the region.
During the operation, the forces recovered a significant cache of arms and other items from his possession, including:
• Two AK-47 rifles with two magazines
• 31 rounds of 7.62 mm AK-47 ammunition
• 150 rounds of 7.62 mm SLR/LMG ammunition
• ₹1,00,000 in cash
• A bulletproof pouch
• A Hyundai Creta (Reg. No. 24 BH 0676B)
• Two mobile phones
The arrest is being hailed as a major success in curbing illegal cross-border activities and dismantling militant networks operating in Manipur. Authorities said further investigations are underway to trace Guite’s associates and financial networks.
