Aizawl, August 1, 2025: A high-level meeting on deregulation and reducing compliance burden was held today at the Secretariat Conference Hall, MINECO, Aizawl, under the leadership of Shri K.K. Pathak, Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat and Task Force Member on Deregulation.
The review meeting, chaired by Mizoram Chief Secretary Shri Khilli Ram Meena, brought together top state officials to assess ongoing efforts to streamline regulations and improve the ease of doing business in the state.
Dr. Lalzirmawia Chhangte, Commissioner & Secretary of Commerce & Industries, gave a detailed presentation on Mizoram’s current compliance framework and the challenges faced by departments and entrepreneurs alike. Discussions highlighted that the prolonged clearance and permit processes continue to pose a major obstacle for new businesses and economic growth.

In his closing remarks, Shri Pathak emphasized the urgency of eliminating outdated and redundant regulations, stating that reducing compliance burdens is key not only for fostering investment but also for enhancing everyday life for citizens. He reiterated the Centre’s commitment to simplifying governance to make life easier for both the public and the entrepreneurial community.
