Large Cache of Arms Recovered Between Jairolpokpi and Uchathol in Jiribam

Jiribam, July 1, 2025: A joint security operation led by multiple forces in Jiribam district successfully uncovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition today, acting on specific intelligence inputs regarding hidden weapons in the region.

Large Cache of Arms Recovered Between Jairolpokpi and Uchathol in Jiribam


The hour-long search operation was conducted between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM in the area between Jairolpokpi and Uchathol villages. The coordinated effort involved personnel from the Quick Action Team (QAT) of the Jiribam Commando Unit, Jiribam District Police, 7th IRB, 87 Bn. CRPF, 48 Bn. CRPF, 20 Bn. CRPF, 156 Bn. CRPF, and 38 Assam Rifles.

The recovered items include:

2 modified .303 sniper rifles

6 SBBL guns

4 DBBL guns

1 Pompi gun

1 tear gas gun

1 rifle scope

180 rounds of .303 live ammunition

8 rounds of SLR live ammunition

27 rounds of 5.56 mm live ammunition

8 .303 blank cartridges

13 SLR blank cartridges

3 .303 magazines

1 SLR magazine

11 tube launchers

9 Baofeng walkie-talkies

8 tear gas shells

The discovery is a significant step in disrupting the activities of anti-social and insurgent elements in the region. Authorities believe the cache was intended for use in future disturbances and have launched further investigations to trace its origin and intended recipients.
