Aizawl, May 31, Virthli (ONP): Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma has expressed deep sorrow over the widespread destruction caused by continuous rains, floods, and landslides across the state, especially in Lawngtlai and Serchhip districts.
In a tweet posted on Friday, Lalduhoma said the ongoing updates from various disaster-hit areas have left him deeply distressed, noting that he couldn’t take his mind off the devastation, particularly the building collapses in Lawngtlai town where rescue efforts are still underway.
“I am following the updates closely and remain concerned for those affected. I am especially moved by the dedication of the rescue workers and the spirit of the volunteers helping tirelessly in these trying times,” he said.
He also acknowledged the hardship faced by families displaced from their homes and those who require urgent relocation to safer areas, calling for continued support and unity in this time of crisis.
In Serchhip, Lalduhoma mourned the tragic loss of Pu Ramzolura of P&E Veng, who reportedly died after his house collapsed due to heavy rains. “His death is a deeply painful loss,” Lalduhoma wrote, extending condolences to the bereaved family.

Assuring the public, Lalduhoma stated that the government is actively working to carry out relief and rescue operations wherever possible, and that all efforts will be made to support those in distress.
He concluded his message with words of prayer and hope:
