Press Release
(July 28, 2014)
The Sangai Express in its issue of July 16, 2014 under the caption “CM tables tentative plan outlay of Rs.3200Cr, MLA local Area fund hiked to Rs.1Cr” mentioned that the honourable Chief Minister of Manipur had announced in the Assembly Hall, when the house was in session that Lungthulien (Manipur) to Vangbawng (to mean Vanbawng, Mizoram) taken up under the Inter-State Connectivity has been completed.
It is however proved beyond any doubt that no such road ever exist at this point of time. The local people are wondering why the Chief Minister of a state entertained the house and the general public with deceitful ploy. How long the denizens of Tipaimukh area would remain the victim of mania for road connectivity? Not to mention the fantasy of new road mentioned by the honourable Chief Minister, portion of National High Way-150, stretching from the first Hmar village to the last within Tipaimukh Sub-Division remains unattended by the Authority even after the Road Construction Authority promised to finish the work before the end of 2011.
Another contagious issue is the construction of Bailey Suspension Bridge across Barak River on Taithu and Patpuihmun under BMC Program at approved cost of `167.98 lakhs. There remains a balance of just `24.79 lakhs. Unfortunately not even a single cable is fixed across the river. How soon the complete report will be announced again in the Assembly hall is everybody’s guessing.
The leaders of Tipaimukh Mandal, of BJP want to know where the elected representative of Tipaimukh constituency was at the time when the Chief Minister gave the complete report of non-existent road. The Hmar people of the area are not tailored to believe that all is well with their fate.
On behalf of the Bharatia Janata Party, Tipaimukh Mandal which stands for justice, equality, progress and development for all.
