CorCom bans Congress party

Imphal, January 04 2012: Charging Ibobi-led Congress party with standing against the people and the freedom movement, the Co-ordination Committee (CorCom) of KCP, KYKL, PREPAK, PREPAK (Pro), RPF, UNLF and UPPK has announced its decision of banning Congress party indefinitely.

In a statement, the CorCom said that no one should become member or worker of Congress party, no one should contest in the election as candidate of Congress party, no election camp for Congress party should be set up, no election rally or feasting should be organized, no camera meeting and public meeting of Congress party should be organized, no household should hoist the flag of Congress party and no individual or transport association should allow their vehicles to be used by candidates of Congress party.

Anyone who acted against these restrictions would be punished, the statement warned, added that no public movement should be initiated against the campaign being launched by the seven UG groups.
