Applications for admission to Ph.D. Programme of Tripura University for the year 2011 are invited fr'om eligible candidates for appearing in the Research Eligibility Test (RET) to pursue research in the Departments of Bengali, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Political Science, Philosophy, History, Economics, Commerce, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Zoology, Human Physiology, Botany & Geography and Disaster Management.
Eligibility:
Candidates holding a Master Degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) in the concerned subject or allied subjects fro'm any recognised University or Institute of National Importance.
Fellowship:
A fellowship of Rs. 5000/- (Rupees five thousand) only per month shall be paid to each selected candidate provided he/ she is Non-NET qualified or NET qualified without scholarship and is not employed in any Government Department/ Private Organization.
How to apply:
Prescribed application form on payment of Rs.100/- through University Bank challan can be obtained fro'm the Ph.D. Section, Tripura University on all working days fro'm 11 AM to 3 PM.

Filled in application should be supported by payment of Rs. 100/- by Demand Draft in favour of the Registrar, Tripura University payable at SBI, Tripura University Campus Branch, Suryamaninagar-799022.
Application must be supported by self-attested copies of certificates/ mark-sheets fro'm Matriculation/Madhyamik & onwards. The envelope covering the application should clearly be marked as "Admission for Ph.D. Programme".
Last date for submission of application:
Application form duly filled-in may be submitted to the Assistant Registrar (Academic), T.U. on or before 4th July, 2011.
Date of examination:
The written examination for the Research Eligibility Test will be held on 15th July, 2011 fro'm 11 A.M to 1 PM. at Academic Building (Geography Department), T.U. for all the subjects. The Viva-voce Examination will be held on the same day i.e the 15th July, 2011 fro'm 2 PM onwards in the respective departments.
NET/SLET qualified candidates and M. Phil qualified candidates as per UGC guidelines are to appear in the Viva-voce Examination. Candidates are requested to bring all their original mark-sheets/ certificates etc. fro'm Matriculation or equivalent examinations onwards.
