“If church and community engagements cause frequent absence from school, leading to missed classes, we must reflect and remember that education is our primary responsibility,” Dr. Vanlalthlana told the gathering, urging educators to dedicate themselves fully to teaching. He also appealed to headmasters to strictly uphold discipline in schools.

As part of the event, Dr. Vanlalthlana unveiled the MISSTA Silver Jubilee Monument and released the commemorative magazine. He also lauded MISSTA members for their service and urged them to maintain a spirit of commitment, noting that the government continues to push forward reforms aimed at strengthening the education system. He highlighted ongoing initiatives to address grievances related to teacher transfers, workload, and non-teaching staff responsibilities.

The opening session was chaired by MISSTA Vice President Pu V.R. Vulmawia, while General Secretary Pu Azaria Laltinkima presented the association’s annual report. MISSTA President Pu C. Lalremruata also delivered an address.

The programme further featured a felicitation ceremony for State Awardee teachers and a special session honouring retired members of the association. In the afternoon, sessions included deliberations on policy matters and welfare schemes for MISSTA members.

With over two decades of service to education, MISSTA continues to play a crucial role in uniting secondary school teachers across Mizoram. The Silver Jubilee observance not only celebrated its achievements but also reflected on the challenges and responsibilities of educators in shaping the state’s future.
