Security Forces Recover Huge Cache of Arms, Arrest KCP (PWG) Cadre in Manipur

Imphal, September 25, 2025: Security Forces have intensified search operations and area domination exercises in the fringe and vulnerable areas across Manipur, leading to major recoveries of arms and ammunition.

On Thursday, a massive cache was recovered from the foothills of Salungpham Mamang Leikai near Ringpam village under Heirok Police Station in Thoubal district. The seized items included one 7.62 SLR rifle with magazine, a carbine with magazine, another rifle, two single-bore action rifles, one SBBL PAG, two Chinese-made HE hand grenades, a local-made explosive, live rounds of different calibres, an INSAS magazine, a tear smoke shell, Baofeng hand-held sets with chargers, body protection jackets, camouflage uniforms, magazine pouches, belts, boots, a backpack, a helmet, and PLA insignias including nameplates and a badge.

In a separate operation the same day, Security Forces apprehended an active cadre of the banned KCP (PWG) group from Khurai Chairen Thong area under Heingang Police Station, Imphal East. The cadre, identified as Md. Tajuddin Shah alias Baboy (37) of Kshetri Awang Leikai, was arrested and a mobile phone was seized from his possession.

Security officials said that intensified operations would continue to prevent illegal activities and ensure stability in the region.
