Tengnoupal, July 24, 2025: In a letter addressed to Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, a senior official in the Manipur Government, Letpao Haokip, Member of the Manipur Legislative Assembly representing the 42-Tengnoupal (ST) constituency, has raised serious concerns over the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Tengnoupal District allegedly neglecting his official duties at the district headquarters.
According to Haokip, while Deputy Commissioners and officers in other hill districts have been regularly attending to their duties from their respective headquarters, the DC of Tengnoupal has been functioning from a village bordering Kakching District instead of the designated district headquarters. This, he said, is causing significant inconvenience to the public and hindering proper governance and service delivery.

Haokip stated that several public complaints have been received regarding the issue and urged the government to intervene immediately. He requested that the current DC be instructed to resume office at the district headquarters without delay, or be replaced with a competent officer who can fulfill the responsibilities effectively.
The MLA emphasized that his concern stems from the larger public interest of Tengnoupal District and appealed for swift action from the authorities.
