Aizawl, 9 August, 2016, Virthli (ONP): The Zo-Reunification Organisation (ZoRO), the Chin-Kuki- Mizo-Zomi group organization which seeks re-unification of all Zo people and bringing them under one administrative unit today pressed demand before the UN for the setting up of modern Socio-Economic & Traditional Cultural Centre for Zo Indigenous People living in the adjoining areas of the Indian Sub-Continent with a world class Zo International University and a modern world class Hospital complete with a Medical College to attend to the felt need for all round education and public health for the erstwhile Indigenous Zo Nation.

The members of ZoRO who gathered here in Aizawl today to celebrate annual International Day of World’s Indigenous Peoples passed a resolution demanding common well-being of all members of Zo people.

ZoRO in a statement said that with the ZoRO’s vision for re-unification of Zo Indigenous People Homeland a distant dream, it remains a sad fact that the ZO people divided and separated as they were, have been negligible minority, backward community respectively living in the adjoining areas of international border of India, Myanmar and Bangladesh.

“While the re-unification of a divided homeland of the Zo people will remain ZORO’s cherished political vision, the Organisation recognises an immediate need of the day for the common well-being of all members of Zo people,” the statement said.

The ZoRO resolved that a modern Socio-Economic & Traditional Cultural Centre (ZO INPUI in Zo language) for Zo Indigenous People living in the adjoining areas of the Indian Sub-Continent be set up with a world class Zo International University and a modern world class Hospital complete with a Medical College to attend to the felt need for all round education and public health for the erstwhile Indigenous Zo Nation. It further appealed to the United Nations Organisation to take up the matter so as to fulfill the aspiration of Zo people in the near future.
