An emergency meeting was held in the conference room of Dist Hospital, CCPur with DC/CCPur, CMO, MS, DIO, DMO and the media fraternity. JE situation was reported by the concerned functionaries to the visiting dignitaries in a confabulation type session. Excerpts:
1. There is no need to panic. God takes good care. Government monitors every single case of suspected JE. Ayurvedic medicine to check JE will be supplied by Medical Deptt soon.
2. JE vaccination is effective only for below 15 age group which has to be a continuous process at DIst Hospital/CCPur. Doctors said, mass-vaccination could be counter-productive.
3. Fogging material and machine will be supplied sufficiently by Health Directorate soon. Main roads and by-lanes will be prior targets. The chemical will take care of the targeted area.
4. Cleanliness drive will be done in every village and Veng of the District with renewed vigour. All BDOs instructed accordingly.
5. Jt Director, Vety, CCPur will be directed to vaccinate all live pigs of the Dist. Pig-rearers must co-operate.
6. Pig rearers are intimated to keep every pig-sty clean and hygienic on own voluntary effort. Pigs bitten by the deadly mosquito, can become the vector.
7. Every suspected JE case should immediately be referred to MS, Dist Hospital, CCPur.
