Minutes of Proceedings of the Joint Emergency Meeting
1. The meeting unanimously passed a resolution to form an interim committee and shall be called "Committee for Protection of Manipur Tribal Rights (CPMTR), Shillong". The following persons are appointed as Office-Bearers of the Committee:-
i) Convenor: Mr. Thang Sian Mung (President, TCSA, Shillong)
ii) Secretary: Mr. Thanggoulen Kipgen
(Incoming President, KSO, Shillong Branch)
iii) Spokesperson: Mr. Paukhankhup Hangzo (Member, SSPP, Shillong)
iv) Media In Charge: Mr. Brando H. Keivom, (President, HSA, Shillong & The Virthli Team, Shillong)
v) Finance Secy: Mr. Charles Kapboi Vaiphei, (Secy., ZSB, Shillong)
Members: Presidents and Secretaries of the above eight student
organisations.
2. To organise Sit-in-Protest on 3rd September, 2015 at Shillong. Time: 12:00PM to 3:00PM. Venue will be notified by the committee. Condolence meeting to be held on the same day for paying homage & in remembrance of the departed souls. Approve to convene Press Conference (both print & electronic Media).
3. Demand to repeal the three controversial Bills namely:-
a) The Protection of Manipur People Bill, 2015.
b) MLR & LR (7th Amendment) Bill, 2015.
c) The Manipur Shops & Establishments (Second Amendment) Bill, 2015.
4. Social boycott of all tribal MLAs & demand their resignation as soon as possible.
5. Boycott Mr. Ibobi (CM of Manipur) from visiting Shillong until all issues are resolved.
6. Expedite ex-gratia and all necessary compensations to victims (fatal & non-fatal) of violence & inhuman acts committed by Manipur State Security forces.
7. Condemn the biased media reports both State & National Media and appeal to crosscheck the facts before reporting. National media include CNN-IBN & State media include The Sangai Express, The Imphal Free Press etc.
8. Strongly condemn the acts of senseless Police Commando Personnel, IRB or CDO who are no less than “State Sponsored Terrorists.” They are biased and could potentially exacerbate the violence/situation. Replacement of prejudiced state security forces by Central Para - Military forces in the violence affected hill areas of Manipur.
9. Immediate imposition of President Rule in Manipur.
10. Urge to erect a Monument- an emblem of unity at one place as a tribute to the departed souls & in memory of their Noble sacrifice.
11. Strongly embrace and applauded the steps taken back at home and firmly stand collectively until our rights are protected and achieved.
